Week 34 and Lots of Firsts

Guess who's teething?

The Tater Tot!

In fact, we think both front bottom teeth are coming in at the same time...

This should be fun.

Actually she hasn't been all that fussy.  In fact, when Mama or someone is playing with her she's rather a happy baby!

We've had a lot of "firsts" this week.

First time blowing bubbles (not that impressed at first...)

She seemed a bit offended that Nonnie would blow them in her face!

Then they grew on her a bit...

And now she thinks bubbles are pretty interesting.

She had her first popsicle (just water and a bit of apple juice)...and again wasn't all that thrilled.

And she now makes the "milk" sign with her hand when she's hungry! Yay!

She almost always poops in her potty and most of the time pees when we put her on there (maybe TMI, but this EC thing is really working and I'm excited to not be changing a poopy diaper every day!).

Oh, and she figured out how to take off her Velcro cloth diaper during her nap. Looks like I'll be getting some more Ruffle Butt covers!

That's all of Tatum's big news!

In my world I've been running around the clock (it feels like) trying to get things ready for her nursery, painting her crib (more on that later), searching Craigslist for furniture pieces since we had to leave so much behind in Seattle, getting my hours done for my job, and trying to remember that guy's name who sleeps in my bed and I think I'm married to.  What's his name? Oh yeah, Matt ;-)

'Till next time!

Week 33

Here's my Sunshine.

Though admittedly a bit grumpy yesterday...not enough naps...

And in the good news department, the sellers of our house agreed to do all the fixes we requested and are tenting for termites as well--YAAAY!!!  So from here on out it looks like smooth sailing!  I'm starting to pick out paint chips and spending way too much time on DIY budget renovation blogs!

Now what's your opinion...should I paint the kitchen cabinets white or stain them darker?

The walls will be a pale green similar to this (depending on your computer screen):

...and I might redo the laminate countertops with Giani granite and can go a lot of different shades (from light to almost black)...

Go dark and add some depth or white or buttercream and make it all fresh and bright?

Opinions, thoughts, and well wishes all accepted.

Tatum's Thirty-Second Week

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

My grandpa used to tell us he was an overgrown leprechaun and for a long time we believed him.

I think Tatum's got some of that mischievous Irish bit about her :-)

Ammah got to come this past week and spend time with us. Despite her getting the stomach flu while she was here (nooooo fun), we still managed to go to the zoo, watch Downton Abbey and play nonstop with Miss Tatum.

We even got to see the CUTEST baby giraffe galloping around, and her mama awkwardly spreading her legs to graze.  This is how I felt bending over while pregnant...

That's all the time I've got for now--no rest for the wicked and the good don't need it, right?

By the bye, our home inspection is tomorrow morning and as along as everything looks good for that we've basically got the green light to close escrow around Easter!

Now, should I paint the cabinets white or stain them darker?  Decisions, decisions...

A Home

Hi Morning Cupparoos!

Last night we signed an agreement on a house!  So as long as everything goes okay (which I'm sure there'll be a few hiccups along the way), we close escrow on April 5th!

This is (hopefully) our new home!

And that garage will be painted a much cheerier white and the front door red--much more welcoming!
(oh, and a new roof was put on it Monday.  Yes, this past Monday.)

laminate flooring in a shade that will hide both the red mud and Roy's hair--yay.

I love the corner fireplace...a place to hang stockings next Christmas!

Kitchen needs some updating and some color, but we really like having that curved breakfast bar

Master bedroom is a nice sage green we'll leave for now...

Master bath is same color, has two closets that meet in the middle behind the wall where the tub is, and a whirlpool tub :-)

This will be Miss Tatum's room.  Its a pale pink right now, but we'll paint it either blue or a pale yellow before we move in

Spare bedroom is the same color as the Master although it doesn't look like it.  Its the darkest room in the house, so we'll be adding lights and painting it a brighter color.
This will be the office/sewing room/guest bedroom, so once we get a bed in there y'all are welcome to come for a visit!

The YELLOW bathroom.  Yeah, this will be painted too.  ZIIIIINGGGG!!!!

Backyard come with an igloo for Mr. Roy and a BBQ for Mr. Matt

And that's all the pics we've got!

It's on a nice cul-de-sac, the neighbors have two dogs who will keep Roy entertained through the fence, the fridge is old but stays with the house so that's helpful up front, and the garage has a workbench that stays.  Yippee!
That's all for now, hope you all are enjoying your day!
